Just another day...

The weather is a hundred and sixty three degrees outside with about two hundred and thirty percent humidity...or that's sure what it feels like to me right now! How about you? Are you able to stay cool with all of this hot, humid air that we are being blessed with? Apparently those of you around Michigan are going to be blessed with rain showers this weekend too. Lovely!

We picked up Jacob's birthday present today. It's nothing spectacular but it's "cool" for a ten year old. Or at least, we think so. It's a pretty good sized stereo (boom box) system. It was $29.xx, so not too bad. It plays the CDs and the Cassette Tapes (as if he'll ever run across any of those) Actually, I have several cassettes still around here. Shocking, eh? At least it's not 8 track tapes or records!! Come to think of it, I have records and a record player still...somewhere! (snicker)

I hope that Jacob enjoys his new gift. It's not a new $300 game system or an IPod. It's not a cell phone or a birthday party at a local hotel. But it's from the heart. It's useful to a ten year old. It's as high tech as he needs at this moment in time. And if he's disappointed with his gift...then I'll take it back and he'll get nothing! Actually, he's not usually ungrateful. I'm thankful for that. He is very blessed and has way more luxeries than I did as a kid. But he does catch slack from other kids at school because he doesn't have those high-tech, high-dollar items that are, in my opinion, absolutely absurd for a child (which is what a ten year old is) to have!

Tim decided that he had to continue on with his trailer today, even after I brought it to his attention that we're not using it for another two months!! So he worked on that with Jacob during the afternoon, much to my bitterness.

I came in, enjoyed the semi-cool house while I did a bit of reading, researching, and oh...yeah...preregistered for my surgery! Now I just have to go have my lab work done on Tuesday, speak with the nurse and anest. dept. and we're all set. I've got quite a bit of pain going on right now which is just another reminder as to why this is a good thing.

The boys are out jumping around in the hose with their cousin while the girls are in here watching Rudolph! Talk about the wrong season!! But hey, it keeps them happy and that's what matters, right?

I'm still highly unmovitaved today but have at least accomplished to do a little grocery shopping for the staples along with a load of dishes, picked up the floors, and I even did a small amount of laundry. I need to get my butt in gear and get moving. But until then, I sit here on my medicated duff trying to avoid drifting off into dream land.

Time to move...I'm getting sleepy again!

That is too funny about the girls watching Rudolf! Logan found his Rudolf DVD and so we just had to watch it a few times. Nothing wrong with Rudolf in June =) LOL!
