Feeling better ... I think.

Just checking in with you all. It seems that my days and nights are all mixed up thanks to these meds. I'm finding myself sleeping until late evening and then unable to sleep during the wee hours. That's one side effect I'll be happy to give up.

Tomorrow (well, in a few hours), I will get my kids back! I'm excited and anxious. I hope they remember that momma has "owies" still. I can't wait to wrap my arms around them and snuggle them deep against my chest. I sure have missed them. It's amazing how much you miss your munchkins after just 4-5 days. I hope they're as excited to see me as I am to see them.

I'm starting to feel a little better this evening. The nausea has subsided enough that I can eat small portions of bland food. I'm taking zofran to help with that. I'll be happy to give that stuff up. I'm taking motrin 800 every 8 hours and vicodin as needed. I've been able to keep most of the pain to a minimum without feeling like I'm in a complete drug induced haze by only taking one vicodin every 4-6 hours instead of 2. The gas pain is still a real issue that hurts more than the incision pain.

I had to make a trip into the doctors today to have more lab work drawn. I was told to just watch my incisions as they opened up after vomiting yesterday morning over and over. I ended up splitting 3 of them open. THAT wasn't fun. So, we bandaged them up and all is okay at the moment. They've been oozing some but I have been watching them and changing the bandages as needed this evening.

I am hopeful that my worst days are behind me. I definately had a rough go of things on Thursday and into Friday. I was pretty discouraged by Thursday evening. Thankfully as Friday wore on, I have felt a little better. I'm hopeful and would like to think that tomorrow I will be feeling really good pain and nausea wise but will just need to be cautious on lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, etc. Thankfully, Tim is off next week so that makes it so much better!!

And, the kids are no longer in school. Can you believe it? I'm now the momma of a Preschooler, first, second, and fifth grader! Holy Smokes Batman. I'm in shock! This fall, Tim won't know what to do with only Jonathon here. It will be a whole new experience! My classes this fall won't be too intense (I'm thinking) so that will be good too.

Well, it's back to bed. I'm feeling the sleepiness coming on.

Until next time...
