Please make my tummy stop churning!

So, surgery was successful. They took very good care of me the first night. The days shift nurse wasn't very good though. I was so very sick (and continue to be so) to my stomach. I finally broke down and called the office this morning after getting sick three times in a row. THAT didn't feel good at all.

They did the surgery via vaginal with laproscopic assist. I have a total of 7 incisions. There are 3 incisions (one navel and two abdominal) and then one incision on each side of my groin. The other 2 incisions are "hidden" where "no man shall go" for a LONG time!

I'm very tired, tons of nausea and can't seem to get comfortable. There isn't any severe pain though and I'm thankful for that. My lower back aches a great deal and the gas pains in my upper stomach/chest/shoulder are very bothersome. I was warned that the gas pains are the worst.

I did get sent home with a cath as I wasn't able to urinate after the surgery. By 3am on Thursday, I had snagged it just enough to cause some discomfort and a little trauma noted by the blood in the bag. By 3:30am, I had taken it upon myself to remove the cath. (Yes, nursing does come in handy).

I spent the better part of the day Thursday in and out of the shower trying to find comfort. I couldn't take my meds w/o throwing them right back up. By 5pm, I finally was able to get a little rest. It's now almost 1am on Friday and I'm awake, not by choice. I've taken my meds but since I slept most of the evening already, my body isn't wanting to crash again. I'm praying for sleep. It helps me not have to worry about being sick.

Thank you again to everyone who is helping me out on this. Thank you for keeping the kids, thank you for being at the hospital, thank you for calling and stopping by, and thank you for running to the store for those little things I needed. Of all times, Felpausch (which will no longer be called that) closed down the day I was released to come home and won't open until 6am Friday. Finding a box of crackers and jello today proved very interesting!!

I should find out what the pathology report says tomorrow. I spoke with the doctor before I left and he said he found fibroids which did misshapen the uterus. There were some adhesions that were around the bladder. Other than that, we had to wait for the report.

I hope to rest up another day before getting the kids back. Tim's been working every night so we didn't lose much pay. He did miss the day of my surgery. Apparently the surgery was about 3 hours and by the time I was in my room, he was exhausted. I sent him home somewhere around 8 or 9pm. I knew he was tired and I worried about him driving. I'm glad he went home to rest.

So, that's how things are here. My kitties have been snuggling with me and keeping me warm. The dog even jumped up on the bed to sleep earlier. Silly dog. I just wish sleep would come...

Until next time... Thank you for everything!
