Hello to the New Emilee!

Today is the day that we have decided to cut Emilee's long hair and donate it to Locks of Love. We have been planning on doing this for quite some time but Daddy just wasn't ready.

This morning, I told him that we were going to make today, the day. The look on his face was.....priceless. He can't imagine his chunk-a-poo with short hair.

The kids and I were all on board and knew why we were going to cut Em's hair. We were blessed with a child who has grown beautiful long hair, why not share that with another precious child who has no hair at all. It is only hair, afterall. It will grow back.

One of the biggest reasons I have decided to do the cut now is because Em's hair was so long and becoming a problem. Have you ever tried to comb syrup out of someones hair? Emilee would cry, pout, scream and even hide when it came time to comb her hair. She rarely allowed her hair up in pony tails and when she did, she would quickly decide to pull the pony tail out once you turned your back. Her hair seems to grow rather quickly so this will give it all summer long to grow a bit longer.

Her hair is adorable. Although, it is a tad shorter than I had hoped for. As soon as she heard the first cut, she became a wiggly little toddler eager to see her new do. I'll admit, it's not a perfect cut, there is some uneven-ness in the back, but it's as good as can be with a impatient toddler. The best part....she LOVES it.



I asked her, "Are you mad at mommy for cutting your hair?" She said "no." I then asked her if she thought Daddy would be mad at mommy to which she said, "No, silwee (silly). He like it too." So, there you have it. Em is convinced that Daddy will love her hair just as much as she does!!! (Daddy hasn't gotten home yet to see it)

May Emilee (and daddy's) loss be another precious little childs gain.
