Good afternoon. I hope your Wednesday is going well! Apparently, the lazy bug has bitten me directly on the keester. I have been dragging my feet about doing just about everything (as noted by the condition of my home). I'm tired. I'm grouchy. And I just don't care! (sigh)
Things are going well here. The kids are doing well, enjoying all of this wonderful weather we have been blessed with. This week, Katelyn had a short school week. They had Kindergarten round up which meant that the current kindergarteners stayed home on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's been nice having her here, except for the bickering between her sister and herself.
Emilee is enjoying the opportunities to "get dirty" outdoors. She's a true country-girl. Actually, all of the kids are country bumpkins. Em is soon to be four. I'm in awe. Four years old. It seems impossible. She is starting to realize that she's about to have a birthday. Unfortunately, that also means we hear more "I want, I want" from her.
Katelyn is also enjoying the weather. She's the official "worm digger" so that we can all go fishing. She will fill a little bucket with all of these skinny, non-meaty, worms and then declare that she's ready. At least she's not afraid to touch them. That's a plus. Kate has developed a bossiness about her when it comes to her sister. This comes as no surprise but can be quite comical at times. Just some of the things she spouts off make me think, "Where did she hear that at. Too cute.
Jonathon is still not walking. I know, they say not to rush him. It's just something that I look forward to....right now anyways. He is now 15 months old. He has the top four teeth and two teeth on the bottom. (left bottom front, skip a spot, and then the next tooth is in). He's learning that he can bite off fruit bars and such. He's s-l-o-w-l-y trying out different sippie cups. We have tried close to 5 different sippies, all without success. He wants nothing to do with them, no matter what type of spout there is. We've even tried the straws. No Go. So, he is still on his darn bottle. At least he doesn't have it around the clock. He also has no paci (hasn't since he was an infant) so that is helpful (and one less thing to break him from). But...we'd like to have him off bottles and walking before this summer so that we can go camping more easily.
Jacob has developed some sort of pms for boys. He's been grouchy, emotional, B-O-S-S-Y, and downright mean at times. He's had an attitude adjustment a few times. I don't think he's too fond of being grounded off his dirtbike and sitting in his room. (sigh) Oh well!! He's in the 4th grade, soon moving to the middle school. I'm very nervous about that. Middle school is so much different than elementary school. Is he ready to handle it? Am I? We will soon see.
Austin is doing well. He had a cute "Welcome to the jungle" program at school last night. Unfortunately, I can't share photos with you due to camera difficulities. Grrrrrrrrrrr!! But, he did a great job. He had a speaking part, which he was so proud of. He's enjoying his school, his friends, and his time away from momma. (sniff sniff) He's becomming so darn independent. Heck, all of the kids are. In a sense, it's nice to have a little more freedom...but sad, too.
Class is still class, (smile). I have just a few more weeks left this term before I move on to bigger and better things. Man, I can't wait!! I'm waiting for information still from Baker, post admission paperwork. I thought it'd be here already but it's not. I've been watching the mailbox like a hawk. I haven't gone quite to the lengths of chasing the mail person's car as a dog would....but close!
Tim's back to work this week after another layoff. These are really getting old, I tell ya. In a few weeks, he then goes to 4 tens instead of five days a week. He's REALLY looking forward to having Friday nights free. Frankly, so am I. He's been helping out D with the race car...alot. I have too, even. I'm learning some more of the race car lingo, tools that do the job, and I even climbed into the car to clean the windshield. Now quit laughing, it wasn't as comical as I thought it would be. There wasn't any useage of a fork lift, chains, or stools!! I did it all by myself....dukes of hazard style! Okay, so I wasn't that graceful since I did end up with a battle wound on my lower back from the seat mount bracket. (smile) But that had nothing to do with me getting in or out of the car. Getting in the car without my "girls" (ahem) catching on the roof was another hurdle I faced. I don't know if I'm cut out to be a racer but it sure does look like fun!!
It is now dinner time so I need to go do the motherly duty of fixing supper. I hope each of you have a wonderful week. We are looking forward to no-rain on Friday so we can head to the track on Friday. Stop on by sometime this season. There's several local drivers who race there. www.spartanspeedway.com
Blessings to you all-
