Do things for us!
I'm a giving person. Sometimes, too forgiving. I've been stepped on, pushed aside, and hurt. I'm always willing to do for others without anything in return. Sometimes, that can be a curse!
I can go shopping for, let's say, new clothes. And I'll come home with new clothes...for everyone except me. Today, for example, I went grocery shopping. I saw something I wanted but instead, I put it back and picked up the summer outfits for Jonathon instead.
Growing up, I remember watching my own Mom "make do" with what she had. New clothes, new shoes, even new glasses were very very rare. I recall her taping her glasses together at one point, just to save money. While I have never done that with my glasses (sunglasses don't count, do they?) I do find myself doing everything I can for my kids, often times forgetting about the things I need.
Tim knows this. He is constantly telling me to just buy what I need instead of waiting. It's one thing that drives him crazy.
Knowing this about me, he purchased my Valentines gift this week. I'll admit, when I heard the cost, I was not happy. I have a hard time buying a $15 item for myself. So imagine my anger when he pulled $150 out to buy the gift.
Today, I received my gift. It's my most favorite type of gift ever. A gift card! Of course, it's to a place I've never purchased a thing from before. Victoria's Secret. I'm pretty sure he had a motive even though he denies it. (snicker) It is, however, the gift that keeps on giving!
Today, he told me that he knows I put my needs behind others. And that he knew I was wanting new (ahem) undergarments. And considering I no longer need "that time of the month" undergarments, I can buy the cute, matching, sets without fear or ruining them! In addition to not needing to upgrade my wardrobe to maternity undergarments any longer either!
So, Thanks Honey! I Love the gift....and I'm sure you will too!
