Short recap of our weekend...

We're back! We left Thursday for our annual trip to play with fellow tractor and Steam Engine lovers. Each year, the weather has been an issue. Either it's very hot or rainy. This year, we were blessed with beautiful weather and georgeous sunsets.

As you can see, the kids enjoyed their vacation.

While we had to endure arguments between the kids and even between eachother, we all had a really good time.

Our last night there was spent around the campfire with friends. I only hope they all had just as much fun as we did. The laughter was great for the soul. It was nice to connect with old friends in a relaxing atmosphere without the interruption of the kids (they were sleeping). Apparently, the location of the firepit was an issue for one who toppled over backwards taking his sister along for the ride too. He claims that his chair was sitting on a hill. I'm betting the slight incline he was sitting on may have been a factor but I presume the adult beverages played a factor into his topple as well. His sister was sitting next to him and when he started to fall, he grabbed her chair and pulled her backwards too! Thank goodness she didn't do the same as I was sitting next to her.

My back pain has been successfully kept at bay with various medications. I waited until bedtime to take the ones that would prohibit me from functioning. I was able to come home from vacation and take a long nap. Even so, I'm still exhausted.

I have so many more incredible photos to share with you but I am starting to feel the effects of my pain meds. I suppose this means that it's about time to go to bed. Before I go, I'll share with you the beautiful sunset we came home to see. It was the perfect ending to a great trip.

It's Camp Time

The tent went up...

The sleeping bags, pillows, and warm PJs were gathered...

The kids surrounded the bonfire...

And then...

The wind picked up!

The weather says 50% chance of rain and darn it...we never realized rain was in the forecast until 11PM.

Tonight, Tim is camping out in the yard with the kids. They have been wanting to sleep outside in the tent for quite a while. We even had our niece and nephew over to sleep outdoors too. Unfortunately, Katelyn and the nephew couldn't control their voices and follow directions. That landed them back indoors for the evening before they could even experience the tent. They were warned. They just failed to follow the warnings three times over. Katelyn took it much harder than the nephew. She was so upset that she was not able to sleep in the tent with Daddy. My heart broke but I knew that it would also be a learning experience for her too. Following directions is important. Maybe this will help her remember that.

So, Tim is out at the fire with Jake, Em, Aus, and niece. Jonathon is in here sleeping. I didn't want to wake him up only to take him into the tent and try to get him to lay down to sleep. And now, Katelyn & nephew are inside too. So, it looks like I'll have the entire bed to myself tonight. :)

I realize my blogging has been sparse lately. I'm not sure what's up, other than Tim being laid off and here under my feet 24/7. I love having him here though. It sure helps to have that extra set of hands for the kids. I'm hoping that this weekend, I'll get the energy (and time) to post some photos of the kids.

Until next time, have a fantastic weekend!
