The tent went up...
The sleeping bags, pillows, and warm PJs were gathered...
The kids surrounded the bonfire...
And then...
The wind picked up!
The weather says 50% chance of rain and darn it...we never realized rain was in the forecast until 11PM.
Tonight, Tim is camping out in the yard with the kids. They have been wanting to sleep outside in the tent for quite a while. We even had our niece and nephew over to sleep outdoors too. Unfortunately, Katelyn and the nephew couldn't control their voices and follow directions. That landed them back indoors for the evening before they could even experience the tent. They were warned. They just failed to follow the warnings three times over. Katelyn took it much harder than the nephew. She was so upset that she was not able to sleep in the tent with Daddy. My heart broke but I knew that it would also be a learning experience for her too. Following directions is important. Maybe this will help her remember that.
So, Tim is out at the fire with Jake, Em, Aus, and niece. Jonathon is in here sleeping. I didn't want to wake him up only to take him into the tent and try to get him to lay down to sleep. And now, Katelyn & nephew are inside too. So, it looks like I'll have the entire bed to myself tonight. :)
I realize my blogging has been sparse lately. I'm not sure what's up, other than Tim being laid off and here under my feet 24/7. I love having him here though. It sure helps to have that extra set of hands for the kids. I'm hoping that this weekend, I'll get the energy (and time) to post some photos of the kids.
Until next time, have a fantastic weekend!

That is so unlike Katelyn. She is usually very good with directions. I am sure she was just overly excited. Let me just say as a teacher that I applaud you sticking to a consequence. She will be a much better person for it! I am sure it wasn't easy but there will be other campouts! I hope you have a good weekend!
