I have two dear friends who are directly affected by this hurricane. I ask for your prayers and thoughts on behalf of them, their families as well as the thousands of others who desperately need them.
Kristi and her family are riding out the storm. As of her last update, she still had power. She expects things to become much worse this afternoon though. Please, say a prayer for her entire family as they now celebrate their Labor Day in the middle of this storm. If I hear anything different other than what she updates on her blog, I will let you know. Otherwise, you can keep updated on their view of Gustav over here. Kristi & Eddie, know that we are all thinking of you. Hold those boys close and let them know that we're thinking of them as well. By the way, my kids said they would let them have their umbrellas so they could still go outside and play. They obviously have no idea the strength of this storm. :)
Beth, another dear friend for the last nine years is also being affected by this hurricane. The latest contact I had with Beth was this morning. She told me that her family had made it safely to Dallas, where they will remain in a hotel until they can go home. She was unsure when they will be allowed to go home or what they will go home to since they are in the direct path of landfall. She did follow that up with the fact that they have their lives and that's all that matters! I know that she would appreciate all thoughts and prayers as they are greatly needed for her as well as so many others! Please know that my heart is with each of you as well. Give Kasey big hugs from Austin and let him know that he says Hi. If you'd like to send her some well wishes, you may leave the comments here and I will be sure to forward them on to her.I can't imagine the position all of these families are in. I know it was difficult for us to leave our home but having time and the means of taking our things with us. I can't imagine having to walk away from everything and not know if we would come home to anything left. My heart aches for every single person who is affected by this.
Please, be careful my friends. We love you all.

I'm here! We just got our power back today!
Aw Bec! That was SO sweet! Thank you so much for thinking about us =) And tell the boys thanks for the offer of the umbrella too. But if I had walked out there with an umbrella I wouldn't have been able to return it intact! LOL! It would have been ripped to shreds and then probably whipped out of my hands and become a target missile!
We lost a lot of roof, have a hole in the roof, our fences blew down and we haven't had power for 8 days! BUT we are OK, well kinda, I had a few mishaps but that's just because I'm a clutz! And our home is still intact unlike so many other homes that are not because they have trees through the middle of them. It's horrible here and it's sad. I wrote about each day what it was like w/o power and AC and the heat, no food, no gas and much more and will hopefully get that posted tonight. But right now I'm going to take a HOT bath and shave my legs, LOL!
Thanks again =)
Also, where does Beth live? I think you told me before but I forgot. Was it Alexandria?
