I also realized that in 10 days, Tim and I will "celebrate" our 16th year together. Sixteen long, amazing, years. That just seems like such a long time to me! WOW! We will celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary in October!
Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled blogging. I realize it's been a bit since I left a true update. Things here have been crazy, to say the least.
Tim has taken on extra hours at work this week. I'm thankful for the OT. It's needed. Very much. But it's been such a stressful week for me that I'm asking myself if it's really needed afterall. Just send up prayers that things will settle down and that I don't lose my mind before then.
Jacob and Austin have started Football this week. They were able to go for one day before they cancelled the rest of the conditioning due to the weather. They both will resume on Monday and run conditioning thru Wednesday. Thursday they can start practicing with their pads. They are both so excited. This is Jacob's second year and Austin's first year playing tackle football. Needless to say, the next 8 weeks or so will be a whirlwind of practices and games. (and school, and college, etc)
I start back up my classes on August 23rd. I am honestly looking forward to it. For now. I don't know if it's having those 4 days a week with time to myself or if it's the "hurry up and get done" mode I'm in. In any event, after this fall semester, I will reapply (for the second time) to the nursing program. I hope to high heavens that I get in this time. I just want to move on.
The girls have become so very emotional over the past few weeks. It's been such a chore some days just to make it from morning till night without having a complete meltdown myself. Lord help me if this is any indication of how their PMS years will be. And furthermore, Lord help the men in their lives as well. I tell ya, I can't help but wonder if they aren't about to start their periods like, NOW.
Jonathon is cruising all over the place. He loves his new freedom and the discovery that his legs are for getting him from point A to point B. He loves to be chased. He loves to try to run away. He's been so funny lately. Yesterday, he decided he wanted a little snack and started sucking on a black marker. Imagine my surprise to turn around and see his little lips all black from the ink. It was a little shocking. Thankfully it was washable! Silly boy. Speaking of the lil man. This child eats! And I'm not talking a little bit. He eats more than his sisters and at times, even his brothers in one sitting. He seriously can pack it in. I must ask his doctor if it's normal for the little stinker to have an empty leg all the time. Of course, he could just be growing. We also discovered that our little man has a new sensitivity/allergy to Red Dye (#40) and Yellow Dye (#5). This was discovered while on Vacation after drinking Cherry Koolaid. And then at home after drinking something with the Yellow Dye in it. Freakin Fabulous! Austin had the red dye issue too and would vomit after having it. Grrrr
Anyways, it's approaching the 1am hour. I'm needing some good pain meds and some strong sleep tonight. Or, maybe it's the other way around (strong pain meds, good sleep). Either way, I think that I may call it a night and hit the sack.
I hope this finds each of you in good health and spirits. The summer is winding down so hopefully you have been able to be outside enjoying all that Mother Nature has to offer us during this time of year (besides the heat and humidity).
Until next time...

Lorelai has the red #40 dye allergy too - totally gets rid of it when she's had it. Upchuck anyone?
