It's going to be one heck of a shiner

Miss Katelyn earlier today!

The darn monkey bars strike again! Last year at this time, Jacob was showing off his new stapled-together-head after a monkey bar incident. Tonight, it is what prompted us to sweep the lil Miss up and take her into Urgent Care. Yes, she is alright. Unfortunately, she will be showing up on the first day of school with a shiner. Poor child!

Everything was going perfectly. We had gone to Jacob's practice for almost an hour then packed up and headed to Austin's. The kids were playing on the monkey bars to pass the time while Austin was finishing up. Just as I was getting the kids into the van, I heard someone bawling. I turned to see Emilee running towards me, telling me Katelyn was hurt and crying. She was about 20 feet away from me. All of you moms (and dads) know how horrible it is when you can't take that hurt away for your child. Well, I was feeling that...magnified! Emilee was upset that Katelyn was upset and Jonathon was screaming because I was tending to Katelyn. Once everyone was settled down, I took pictures. (of course) We were able to get ice from the coach's wife to try to combat the swelling. Then we loaded up and headed out. I dropped the kids off at home with the niece, gave Kate some motrin (which I found out later I should have used Tylenol for the first 24 hours instead of motrin), and off to Urgent Care we went.

She checked out totally fine, nervous giggles and all! I was afraid of damage to her orbit since the fall was about 3-4 feet and she caught her eye on a platform on the way down. She came home, looked in the mirror and laughed. Apparently, we just went on a little field trip this evening. As long as she's okay, I don't mind.

The previous two photos are right after she tangled with the monkey bars!
