Have you ever had days where you wish you had silence but once it is silent, you long for a little more noise?
The adjustment of Tim returning to work this week has been tough on all of us. Each of our schedules are trying to adjust to the new routine and it's taking longer than we would like. Naps are nonexistant for the little guy. Bedtimes have been stretched out way past a normal hour. And I find myself staying awake until the early morning hours before I'm finally able to settle down for the night.
Tonight, I sit, surrounded by silence. Two of the kids are gone for the night and the other three are sleeping peacefully. The noise that filled the house hours earlier has left and instead of soaking up the silence, I am finding myself longing for a little more noise.
Today we were able to accomplish some of the things on my to-do list. I've done about six loads of laundry, most of it linens. We now have the geese here with us. I was going to take photos to post but never got around to it. I was able to get the fenced in area mowed and I was able to get a few more boxes of goodies unpacked and put away.
Things are progressing as well as I can expect at this point. The items we've moved are, for the most part, put away. We have about seven or eight boxes of things that are still packed up but I'll get to those tomorrow. This weekend, we will end up with another batch of boxes that we will have to go through.
One thing this move has provided for us is the ability to downsize. Most of us have been able to get rid of the unessential and keep the essential and useable items. I say most of us because Tim seems to be having a problem with this task. He has gotten rid of some things but not nearly enough. If you've been one that has helped us move things, you will know what I mean. He, alone, has had at least seven trailer loads of things that he has brought here. These are things he can't get rid of, may need in the future, or are just things he wants. This has proven to be a very difficult subject for the two of us. Please send up a prayer that he will realize that he needs to downsize as well. I am really struggling with his need to be a packrat and he seems to be struggling with my need to speak my mind.
Once again, we're nearing the early morning hours. I better head to bed.
Take care, my friends.

Becky, I hear ya on the pack rat. Sparky has filled our garage and the barn with crap. Most of it from the auction to resell, but crime in italy, there's enough stuff our there to start another full country.
I hope you are getting settled in. I've been thinking about ya.
I ended up having to be anonymous--Jan
